This is a story about an international couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes, Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our ongoing crazy adventure.

- Facebook Post - This was without a doubt the last fishing trip to Wakayama this year. We caught a lot of fish but it was really not warm at night.

- Facebook Post - Puppies graduated to being in the house dogs this week. Already settled and doing incredibly good. Quite an effort though worth it for happy puppies. They sleep in a section of the closet normally used to store futons. This is adjacent to where we sleep now. And the last afternoon BBQ for this year. This Summer was a lot of fun but time to focus on work now. We went hiking up Myojin Mountain.

- Facebook Post - Happy Hanukkah. Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanukkah. This is a crazy year with the first day of Hanukkah falling on Thanksgiving. Actually Hanukkah began the night before. This is the earliest possible date for Hanukkah to begin. The Jewish calendar situation this year is unique. In fact, this has not occurred since 1899 and will only occur once more. And that won't be until the year 2089. Then there will be a shift in the calendar pushing everything ahead. Pretty fascinating. CLICK THIS LINK AND CLICK THE TURKEY PLAY BUTTON.
