This is a story about an international couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes, Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our ongoing crazy adventure.

HANAMI TURNS INTO HYOUMI. A picture of my backpack all alone enjoying hanami which turned into a mega thunderstorm with hail….hyou in Japanese. We hung out actually drinking beer in 40 degree temperatures until the storm was finished. Was crazy and fun. GOOD STUFF. Hey now this is your conclusive proof man made it to the moon. Story on the back of a bag of chocolate. DRIED SQUID. This post is for my mishpucka Jim and Linda. Maybe you remember this as the stuff which stunk up your house last year….a bag of dried squid. Yummy snack.
