This is a story about an international couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes, Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our ongoing crazy adventure.

- Facebook Post - CRAZY STORM - Another storm caused a fair amount of wind and rain damage to the farms.

- Facebook Post - SPINACH DIP - A side dish of dip made with spinach fresh from the farm and homemade bread. QUITE YUMMY - This was another really delicious meal with fish, olive oil, tomatoes, and basil harvested last Summer. CRAB NABE - We brought home all of the crabs from the soup and put them in the nabe. REALLY DELICIOUS - Wifey made four different dishes with the fish including sashimi. UPCOMING PROJECTS - We purchased a lot of wood for some upcoming projects. The wood is known as Japanese sugi and is very popular in this country.

- Facebook Post - REALITY CHECK - Now in Japan the date is officially December 25….um possibly an important holiday today….but not in this country and especially not in this place….business as usual….um and not my holiday. Although, it is the Sabbath and the candles were already lit. Residing on a fantastic small subtropical island close to the mainland of Japan that probably many Japanese do not even know about. A beautiful and really full moon outside tonight. Wifey prepared okonomiyaki for the Sabbath meal. Totally rocking out with my six year old son to a few generations of fantastic music while drinking the usual favorite California cabernet purchased online from the Japanese version of Walmart. Going to a world heritage site in a few days heading towards the New Year. WTF this has become incredibly surreal at this point. lol.

- Facebook Post - Now en route to Yakushima. Mega rough ride today.

- Facebook Post - Then went to a couple of unisex onsens. Guests all change clothes on a rock. The wall is actually the dividing line between men and women. A couple of naked pics probably cannot post. lol. Today was a really long hike.
