This is a story about an international couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes, Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our ongoing crazy adventure.

Mountain Purchase

- We closed the equivalent of Japanese escrow today and completed the purchase of our 4.5 acre forested mountain property. We had our eyes on this property for awhile now and recently the price was significantly reduced and within our budget. This is going to quite a project for the family, especially since we're total newbies, and know nothing about, forest management. With no usable campsite, we are limited to day trips until we set up at least minimal facilities. Please visit our Agroforest Progress page for a timeline, in reverse chronological order, of our agroforestry project from the beginning until the present.
