This is a story about an
international couple raising and home educating three
young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in
buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in
the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with
climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages
are about pretty much anything and everything all guided
by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes,
Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our
ongoing crazy adventure.

Thoughts
When I began making this site, I really had no idea which
direction it would take. The last few years saw me and my family change
residences four times, including three international moves. Quite a lot for a
non-military family. Anyway, each move involved taking chances, making changes,
and trying to be happy. Those ten years were trying times for my family to say
the least. We made changes that most people would not have even thought were
possible but somehow we pulled it off and are finally stable, living on a small
island in Japan. During those years, I watched American society degrade and
posted many pages.

Comedy
I decided to make this section for a number of reasons the
least of which is the importance of laughter. We focused on
a lot of comedy as 2020 quickly turned into a nightmare
thanks to Covid-19. Although there were no cases on our
little island, we threw ourselves into isolation anyway,
just in case. This meant no visits to the most popular
beaches, very few house parties with friends, and pretty
much every event being cancelled. Needless to
say, we needed something to laugh at....every day.

Music
I guess you could say we are a pretty musical family. We turn on
music in the morning and listen to it throughout the
day, everyday, until nighttime.
From Jpop to Kpop to Bollywood to Classical to Jazz to good ole Rock and
Roll, we pretty much listen to it all.
