A story about an international
couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small
island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic,
self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while
dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty
much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes,
Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on
our ongoing crazy adventure. |

April 10, 2011 - Yoshino Mountain - Hanami. Made
the annual trip up Yoshino Mountain to see the cherry
blossoms in bloom, known in Japanese as hanami. The trees
traverse the entire mountain and due to the differences in
elevation, you can see the cherry blossoms in various stages
of bloom. |
April 30, 2011 - House - Hanami Party. Went
to the hundred yen store and bought some fake cherry
blossoms for this hanami, aka flower viewing, party. It got
a few laughs from friends. |
