This is a story about an international couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes, Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our ongoing crazy adventure.

- Facebook Post - ANOTHER STORM COMING. Spent today picking up after a typhoon wiped out some of the garden on Tuesday. Now another storm called Talim is heading this way. Gonna be lots of rain next couple days again. Pretty cool actually.

- Facebook Post - Picture of Shai getting ready to do some shopping at Seiyu AKA Walmart. Yup same company, same products, same prices, different language.

- Facebook Post - Today a bunch of kids came to the house to play. Friends of Akiko for many years. Was pretty noisy for a few hours but lots of fun.

- Facebook Post - This was the kitchen before remodeling. See previous picture for finished product.

- Facebook Post - Shai harvesting last of our potato crop for this year. These potatoes are pretty small but really tasty.

- Facebook Post - LANDSCAPING FINISHED. Yup can actually relax this Summer with the landscaping and most projects finished up. Put in a brick walkway, good quality rocks, and a sand play area for little Shai. A couple citrus trees, loquat trees, along with grapes and kiwis growing on the wall and what used to be the carport. Really enjoying all this free time in Japan now. CLIMATE CONTROL IN A NEW LAUNDRY ROOM. Built this laundry room outside the bedroom. Used a few unwanted shoji for a hinged roof which can be opened on sunny days and closed when raining. Put new bamboo sheets to keep out the sun and reduce temperatures in the house. Pretty cool….um literally.
