This is a story about an international couple raising and home educating three young boys on a small island in Japan, half living in buses, engaged in organic, self-sufficient farming in the middle of a mountain forest while dealing with climate, cultural, and personal challenges. These pages are about pretty much anything and everything all guided by our family motto, Taking Chances, Making Changes, Being Happy. Thank you very much for joining us on our ongoing crazy adventure.

- Facebook Post - INCREDIBLE THUNDERSTORMS - This was the um “view” of neighboring Yakushima yesterday afternoon. The island was shrouded in clouds which were producing loud thunder and a lot of rain. I went to the rock beach close to the house with Shai to watch the storms and hang out for awhile. This morning those storms made it to Tanegashima. Crazy.

- Facebook Post - PEANUTS DRYING - Put peanuts in the sun for awhile to dry. Akiko boiled them. Yummy. PICKING PEANUTS - Yup Shai became a peanut farmer today.

Picture - Hamada Beach - Shai was playing at the beach today.
- Facebook Post - LIGHT TASTE - The inside of a dragon fruit is as interesting as the outside. The taste is slightly reminiscent of kiwi but much lighter.

- Facebook Post - KAWAII NA - This is the new setup in front of the entry. A couple of nice pieces of driftwood, some dragon fruit and aloe vera growing in bamboo pots. Top it off with some potted marigolds and voila….a beautiful outside entry. SHUCKING POPCORN - This was all of the popcorn we grew in the upper upper farm. Shai was very busy shucking all the husks.

- Facebook Post - CRAZY HOT - Found a few really hot red jalapeno peppers hiding in a bunch of marigolds.

- Facebook Post - Yup now wifey and son in the tent. Sitting outside drinking wine on this beautiful starry night. Warm from campfire. Hoping high tide does not wash away our stuff. lol. Yeow. Stepped on a piece of hot charcoal from the BBQ. Thank goodness for a lot of ice in the cooler and tons of wine. lol. Funny picture. Now evening and a beautiful crescent moon is setting. Finished eating and now relaxing on the beach. This place rocks. Spending the weekend hanging out at Urada beach.
