Hi. I really envy you being able to spend time with family. I know if I was with
you now it would a happy time for me to spend new years with you. Today I spent
a couple hours working on making the house kirei again. I took the futon and
blankets to the veranda and put them outside. Now everything smells really good.
Then I went shopping with Akiko and Shai. We bought a lot and will go shopping
again tomorrow. I am trying to purchase many things and then wife does not need
to bring home with bike. Can only drive a couple more days. Going to be online

totally agree you. Need to be with a more Americanized Japanese. Maybe with an
American. I cannot do a Japanese style relationship. Been with women before who
are passionate and can express their feelings. Want to feel real good love

Hi. I think you really possess an uncanny ability for understanding many things.
Actually I wish it was as easy as ex girlfriends. I would simply discontinue
communication to make my marriage work. Problem is basically personality
differences. When we were in SD Akiko made a bazillion excuse why she was not
happy. I spent a lot of money, time, and energy to purchase this house and get
to Japan to get away from all the issues. As it turned out now we are together
with no outside influences and realize we do not fit. Although we plan to split
it will take a bit of time to sell the house. Really thankful though for my
friends like you who continue to be there for me even after many months of no
contact. You know I am drinking every night for the past year. This is very
unusual for me and is a direct indication of marital problems. Really looking
forward to returning home and relaxing. You really are a good friend. Send email

Hi. I know said this many times. You went though a divorce and you know it is
sad and you will try anything to make things better before deciding to split.
Actually me and Akiko take energy from each other anytime. It seems there is no
choice now. It is sad but in some way a relief for me now. Anytime waiting for

Hi. I am updating the Japanese site now. Pretty much a mess during the update. I
talked with Akiko. Actually she will be staying in the house for now. We are not
going to be like a married couple anymore but will support each other and Shai.
Eventually the house will be sold but it will take time. Really nice to be able

Actually we do not officially say divorce but making step for this now. Already
taking sites offline Akiko was working on and getting ready to go back home.
This will take a lot of time to sell this house and do everything. Really do not

Hi. I wanted to tell you we are beginning the process of ending this marriage.
From today going to be deleting some online projects. Even though I worked with
Akiko on some of these, a few of the sites are a mess and she worked on setting
these up and knows all the technological stuff. It is easier for me to simply
delete her work and begin again. This is only involving three of the sites.
Anytime Akiko is going to begin something and not finish. Next will be selling
the house which could take some time. We are planning to do things slowly and
finish everything in a good way. This really is awful but better for everyone

Hi. I really needed to laugh when I read your email. Even though you and I spent
little actual time together maybe you know me too well. Yes I am in the midst of
a bottle, actually a pack, of California Cabernet. This was quite a find
considering this is Japan. Really delicious and relatively inexpensive. Anyway
you were absolutely correct. Things are not good. This house took a year to
remodel and took a lot out of me. In addition, problems with Akiko persist.
Issues which were present for many years were supposed to go away once we put
some distance between Akiko and the things which were bothering her in San
Diego. Being alone in this house together brought to light many things and now
we are struggling to work things out. Really not looking good though. Possibly
will sell the house at some point and return home. Now focusing on my career and
online work. Hopefully things are going well with you. Send an update when you

Actually I am really not sure now. Me and Akiko really not doing good. No
fighting but not much talking. I pretty much gave up. Now focusing on work and
friends and beginning work towards selling the house eventually and going home.
Next couple weeks she will probably make plans with family. Decided not to go as
you know. Would like to spend time with you but Japanese usually with only

Actually I kind of already figured out the problem from looking at everyone at
the party.
Really it is Mayumi husband problem.
He should be able to control himself with other people.
Even though this is my thinking I really understand about Japanese culture.
I know it is difficult for Japanese men to say no about drinking with other men.
Another point is I really like talking with Mayumi husband.
Katsuyasan was taking all his time at the party.
He was drunk too and acting very strangely.

Hi. I am not angry at all about this. Simply need to make decisions about my
things. If you and student are sick then it is your decision not to come to
class. Simply wanted to teach only an hour this week instead of a double class.
Was not intending to cancel class. You also need to realize I am not happy these
days and get upset easier. You should remember back when your marriage was many
problems. Now Akiko and I really not doing good. Many disagreements and not
talking much. Getting drunk every night. This is not the way I used to be. Many
years ago was very successful and could do anything. In Japan very limited for
many reasons. It is difficult to think this marriage will end but it is very
possible now. Today your timing was not good. Found out cannot renew
international drivers license. Need to take a written and driving test. We made
appointment for this afternoon. Wanted Akiko to take the day off but she would
not. She wanted to take off only half day. Now she is stuck on the train and
cannot come home because of the storm. In addition recently letting Akiko do all
the house stuff and paperwork and receipts. Today could not find my passport for
the appointment. Really losing control in this situation and not happy about it.
Really trying to be there for family but Akiko cannot do things in a good way
and the house is a mess anytime. Really need you to understand. You went through

Hi. I want to explain. Really do not want to return to SD at this time. Simply
do not want any drama. Went through a lot in the past. You worry about many
things. Can understand your thinking but if you are very worried then you should
only see me as a friend. Neither of us wants to be only friends though. Probably
Akiko knows but does not want confirmation. Getting a bit more nervous because
your sister knows about us now. I want you to relax and enjoy the time together.
Anyway the Internet is working again. Actually I make a mistake. After making
the wall in the bedroom I needed to reinstall all the wires because they were on
the cabinet and a total mess. Maybe you saw this when you came to the party. I
really do not like a lot of wires hanging all over the place. Spent a few hours
and put everything up on the wall. Then I put all the connections together and
put a wire in the wrong place. Then the Internet was not working. The error was
all in Japanese and I could not read it. Needed to wait for Akiko to come home
and then I could now the wire was in the wrong place.
Since the Internet was not working I decided to work outside. Shai was not home
and it was a good chance to work on the parking space since a few tiles were
loose. I spent the day outside. This is why the car is parked in the next yard.
A couple days ago Akiko was very sick at night with the flu and a fever. As
usual the next morning she was good again. Because she was sick and working
outside now I am sick and home. It is good the Internet is working again.
I am thinking about you a lot these days. I am going to be very busy getting all
the Internet stuff ready for the new year and the house. Really want to make

Hi. I really need you to quit worrying about everything. Recent fighting was not
about you. Now the situation is not good with Akiko and you keep thinking too
much. Quite honestly all this drama is getting to be a lot for me now. If things
do not settle down soon then will probably sell the house and go back home. I
simply am getting very tired of this mess. Combine all this with the fact Japan
is either too warm, too cold, loaded with bugs, and very old and small. Going
home means no need to work, warm temperatures, no bugs, beautiful wide streets,

Hi. I know those type of email were sent to you before. Really I apologize for
sending those. Actually I am not upset with you and the situation. Recently
Akiko is getting upset about many things. Now she knows about work more and my
thinking. She met a man at work who is a professional site designer and working
for her company as a consultant. This person is really impressed with the work
Akiko had completed on our sites. Then he was saying many people are making a
lot of money on the Internet even with only google ads. Now Akiko can understand
more about my thinking. She is becoming more motivated to do online business and
not thinking as much about the school. Man times people cannot understand the
way I am thinking especially about business. Actually doing business was a good
point for me in America. Maybe Akiko could not believe before and now is
realizing I am doing a good thing online. Many Japanese cannot understand about
my work. To many of them it look like I am playing on the computer every day.
Many think I should be focusing on the school and maybe working a regular job.

Hi. I want to talk to you about many things now. You know we like each other and
do not forget about this.
Today you sent email which seemed really important when I was shopping with
Akiko. It seemed like you need to talk about some problem. It was day off for
Akiko but you said you were waiting for me and we came home a bit early. I am
really happy Yuya wants to learn English from me but it needs to be on the
school schedule. A normal language school will set the classes and then the
students need to decide. Quite honestly I already made plan with Akiko for this
week on the days she is off. We went shopping today to purchase things to finish
the bedroom. Recently Shai is getting sick and maybe because the bedroom was not
warm. I can only work on the room when someone is with Shai now. I cannot do the
free class on Sunday and Tuesday because I need to finish the room which I
already told Akiko. I can do the free class next Saturday at 10 am with the
ladies. He can also come at 11 am for a private free class and then for the
party. I can even talk with him during the party. Again I need to think of
family and being warm and stick to the plan with Akiko. Maybe you can understand
about this.
Today you talked about coming to the kids class again. You wanted to know a
decision and you wanted to know when I would make the decision. Again it was a
lot of pushing for me to do something. Akiko seemed unhappy about it because she
needs to keep telling the parent of the student something different. It was a
long talk with Akiko tonight about many things. I made a decision as you
requested. I want you to continue to volunteer for the class with your friends
if you want. I am not going to need you as an assistant in the kids class and in
the intermediate class. It is many discussions about this topic and better to do
these classes myself. It makes the situation simple and easy. Today you said not
to use any Japanese in the kids class but when you were assistant you used a lot
of Japanese when you talked with the student. This made talking to you tonight
kind of confusing. Again I want to make my own decisions concerning teaching and
the classes.
Akiko and I talked about BYOB for the party. She agreed it was a good idea and
she will probably tell her friends if she wants.
Anyway I want things to be easier and simpler for everyone and I will do instead
of asking others to do from now. This will take away a lot of frustration and
take away many discussions. Hopefully you can understand about all this. I

Hi. I want to tell you many things now. Recently I am very frustrated. When I
made my real estate business many years ago it was much easier. Then I was in
America and everything was in English. No need to depend on anyone and could do
everything. Now need to depend on Akiko and you for Japanese and many things.
Really do not like to ask favor from anyone. It is not good feeling for me to
depend on others for my business. Recently you are very busy at work. Akiko is
busy and coming home late and tired. Then I realize do not want to depend on
anyone anymore. I am going to do anything I can do for the Internet business and
the school. If cannot do then it will not be finished. Recently I took the links
to the Japanese pages on the school site off the site. Cannot do the Japanese
translation and will keep the site English only now. Spending more time now
getting caught up on all the link exchange requests and other business relating
to the sites. This will be the focus now. Marketing at the event last weekend
was ineffective. No phone calls were received and almost no new visitors to the
school site. It was a good attempt but same as America handing out flyers is not
effective marketing. Was thinking it might be different in Japan but it is the
same. Want to talk about you being assistant in class. Really I can do without
you. The fact is I really like you and keeping you as assistant is a good excuse
to meet you. Recently spending less time thinking about my marriage and
relationship with you and more focus on work. Now you met someone online and
seem happy. Really do not want to get in your way if you are happy with this
person now. Really focusing on my work from now. Really want to spend time with

Hi. I want to comment about your recent email and other things.
Last week after teaching the kids class the girl asked many questions to Akiko
about you. It seemed like she was thinking a lot about you being in class. Then
I asked Akiko to contact the parent and decide if they want you in the class.
They said they want you to continue coming to class at least until other
students register.
This week the adult class will only be pronunciation since a student will miss
class. This way it will be easier for the student to understand the lesson. Tell
the ladies class on day 20 of this month will be a two hour class.
I decided to cancel the party on day 27 of this month. It seemed there was not
enough interest and many people cannot attend and many are undecided. Still
planning the party for next month though.
Any conversation online classes will be 3000 yen for a 55 minute conversation
class. Business classes will be 4000 yen for a 55 minute class. This price is
not listed on the site because I thought no requests for this type of class were
coming. Business classes require a lot of preparation time depending on the
topic. Actually you can see the price for the regular business classes is higher
on the site.

Hi. I totally know about working for some company. Anytime they mess around with
your hours and do crazy things. Really self employment is a good option anytime
if you can make money. Anyway the school is finally beginning and already a
couple students. You can take a look at the site for more information. Japan is
getting much cooler now but really nice. Tons of rain recently. Already put in
the next garden with a bunch of cool season crops. Even using the veranda as a
garden since it gets sun much of the day. It used to be the outside laundry room
but built a new laundry room in the back. Now can make a garden upstairs. This
week is back to more house projects. Really want to warm this place up this

Hi. I am send the information you requested. Please tell the students about this
and apologize for the misunderstanding.
Changing the class to the middle of the week. I though they planned to do the
weekend class for awhile then change to the middle of the week if the weekend
class was not working for them. I could not know they were talking about a class
during the week if they miss a weekend class.
These will be the rules for the class.
If anytime I am going to cancel class then there will be a make up class at a
convenient time for everyone. They are paying for four classes per month and
will receive these classes if a class is canceled.
If they miss class there will be no make up class. If many students come to the
school and many miss class during any week and all want a make up class it is
too much for me to do this. Same as college and any other adult situation it is
up to the students to make it to class. If they miss a class they will be given
the printout and any other materials from the class.
Students do not need to call if they will miss a class. They can simply not
come.
The students will pay a monthly fee to attend classes at the school. They will
receive an average of four classes per month. Some months there will be five
classes and some months there will be three classes and some months there will
be four classes. Basically they will receive forty eight classes per year. There
will be four weekends per year with no class. The days with no classes will
coincide with Japanese holidays when possible.
Class fees will paid at the beginning of the class at the beginning of each
month. If the money is paid there is no refund for the month. If the students no
longer want to attend the school then they simply would not pay anymore.
Students should bring all printouts from previous classes to each class in case
some questions come up.
Students should purchase an electronic dictionary.
Students should bring their own notebooks and paper and pen and any other study
materials to class.
There is no textbook for the lessons.
A printout will be given to each student every class and is included with the
class price.
This is pretty much everything but going to think of more. I am going to write
this information much better and then you can do a translation. Send email if

Hi. I am doing really good now. Much of the work on the house is finished. Began

full time at a really relaxed company. Shai is walking now and doing many

Anyway about you. Since you came back to Japan you changed a lot. Your email is

The next morning everything was packed into the car and the trip began around
8:30 am.
Drove to a shopping center to purchase food.
Then went to Yoshino.
Went to the river and stayed for about 30 minutes and ate lunch.
Then went up to the mountain at around 1:30 pm.
Registered for the cottage and then went there.
It was about a six tatami cottage.
Everyone was tired and stayed in the room.
I went hiking alone to the dam and went fishing.
It was very beautiful and was pretty much alone the entire time.
Actually caught a small fish.
Then tried to use keitai and it said out of service area.
Could not send email to you.
Was very disappointed.
Then took the fish back to the room
Then everyone went to the onsen.
Took Shai into the onsen.
He was very good.

Then went back to the room.
Then ate dinner and drank a lot of beer and wine.
Then walked with Akiko and showed the fishing place.
Then went back to the room.
Went outside to look at the moon and the stars.
Then on Sunday ate breakfast.
Went fishing alone again.
Pretty much no people around.
Caught a bass and took pictures and let it go back.
Then went to another mountain.
It is the rainiest place in Japan.
Went on a hike with Akiko for a couple kilometers and took Shai in the baby
backpack.
It was really nice.
Went to the top of a mountain.
Then came back to the house and everyone ate dinner together.
It was a very relaxing weekend.
Was thinking about you a lot.

Hi. I know you guys will be happy to finish the house project. My house is
coming along much better now. Japan is extremely hot and humid. The locals said
this year is unbelievable. The temperatures are in the nineties every day very
sticky. Temperatures inside the house are pretty comfortable though thanks to
the use of bamboo and other means of climate control.
Akiko is working now for an NPO in Nara which is a few train stations away from
the house. She rides the bike to the train station, takes the train, and then
walks to work. The job is really easy and laid back even compared with American
standards. She can wear anything to work and can pretty much come in and leave
anytime. She even can go shopping during work hours. The pay really sucks though
but at least she comes home happy every night.
Shai is walking like crazy now. I watch him during the day. We go for a walk
together in the morning and then hiking at a local mountain in the afternoon.
The trail up the mountain is tree lined and much cooler every day especially
when compared with the walk in the farms close to our house. He really likes to
be outside. Watching him makes it difficult to work though and we are thinking
about putting him in a preschool next year until we can really get the business
going.

Hi. I think the good word is melting. Japan is fucking boiling hot now. The
locals insist this is an unusual year. The temps are pretty much hovering around
95 and combined with the humidity the index is over 105 every day. Using lots of
bamboo and other means of climate control and at least the inside of the house
is relatively comfortable.
Akiko is working full time now which puts me in the ranks of many of my friends
with a working wife and a stay at home husband. The house is pretty much
finished, at least for now, which gives me a lot more time with Shai and to do
the things I like.
The English school should begin next month but we are focusing more on the
Internet stuff these days. The sites continue to perform well despite the
absence of any significant updating over the last few months.
We are still hoping you guys can manage to visit us sometime in the near future.
We plan to be in this house for about three years before moving on to who knows
where.

Hi. Akiko began working for an NPO in Nara last week. Now I am home with Shai

Hey we found a Japanese engineering graduate student who will be renting our
place in San Diego for a couple months and plans to arrive at the condo
tomorrow. Yeah pretty incredible being in Japan for sure. Spent over half a year
working on this piece of crap house which now looks nothing like when I
purchased it. Probably going to be in Japan for quite some time. Getting ready
to go back into business again with the English school. Many new friends in the
neighborhood and definitely relaxing being in Japan. America continues to get
more and more crazy especially San Diego these days. Happy to be in the
countryside with things very simple every day. Tons of rain recently though

Hi. I was asleep and woke up now because of itching.
Really not sure if I can do another Summer in Japan.
The problem is I am very active and like to be outside.
Then I really get many mosquito bites.
Many Japanese people stay in the house much of the Summer and it is not a
problem.
In San Diego the temperatures are nice the entire year and no mosquitos.

The last few days were very difficult.
My knee is much better but now very sick.
Going to tell you about this.
The last Saturday was another service at the temple.
It was a little long and needed to take Shai out walking.
Then I went with Akiko to a restaurant in Oji after the service.
Many of the people from the service went to the restaurant.
Everyone was in a special room in the back.
The room was very cold and many people were smoking.
It is the worst thing for me anytime.
Then on Sunday needed to meet the family again.
I began to get really sick.
This is something I was getting since a very young age.
It is called bronchitis.
Could not sleep much last night.
Today I was working in the house to keep my mind busy.
I cannot sit and think about being sick anytime.
Now I am taking a couple different kusuri.
It usually takes a couple weeks to a month to be better from this.
I usually get sick from this at least once a year.
This is now the third time since coming to Japan last year.
Anyway this it is reason for not contacting you.
