BOYCOTT TRUMP FAMILY PRODUCTS

I was thrilled beyond words when my friend....thanks Jennifer....sent email with some information about a grassroots movement to boycott retailers who stock Trump family products and who support the Trump family in general. I began promoting the idea in Facebook for weeks before, that the best way to oppose Trump, is through peaceful economic means. Money is something all to important to the Trump family and finding ways to damage their business ventures is a sure way to make them stand up and take notice.

I had no idea a couple of ingenious women were a step ahead of me and had already compiled a list of companies to avoid. Shannon Coulter and Sue Atencio made a Google spreadsheet, listing all of the companies they knew of, which showed support of the Trump family. This spreadsheet then turned into the GrabYourWallet.org website.

Note: The information on the GrabYourWallet.org website is in the form of a spreadsheet and the right hand columns were off the screen and unreadable, at least on my computer. Some of that information will be reposted here for your convenience. For additional information, please visit the GrabYourWallet.org website. Although I plan to visit their website for updates, it would probably be a good idea for you to also visit the site in order to receive updates in a more timely manner.
 
What is GrabYourWallet.org

The #GrabYourWallet boycott began October 11, 2016 when a brand strategist and a grandmother simultaneously realized they could no longer in good conscience shop at retailers that do business with the Trump family. Shannon Coulter and Sue Atencio joined forces and announced on Twitter they'd be boycotting any retailer that carried Trump products, publishing a short list of such retailers later that same evening. On October 14th, Shannon introduced the #GrabYourWallet hashtag. The hashtag and the movement exploded on social media and has been viewed over 350 million times. No longer just a boycott, #GrabYourWallet has evolved into a movement and central resource for the flexing of consumer power in favor of a more respectful, inclusive society. It's been reported on by The New York Times, Vogue, The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, CNN, MSNBC, Nightline, and BBC among dozens of other media outlets. Notable figures who have amplified or supported the movement include Don Cheadle, Greg Louganis, Lucy Lawless, Roseanne Cash, Joyce Carol Oates, Robert Reich, Pam Grier, Ben Cohen, and Joy Reid.

A small GYW team carefully monitors the inventory of the companies on the list such as Amazon, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor and immediately drops companies from the boycott list once it's been verified that official Trump products are no longer available, either online or in brick and mortar locations.

These retailers and companies routinely do business with the Trump family and/or sell Trump family products including, but not limited to: shoes, clothing, accessories, jewelry, handbags, fragrance items, diaper bags, home furnishings, and home improvement merchandise. These products are either produced by Donald and Ivanka Trump, or are endorsed by them and carry their name. In addition, many of those connected with these companies have supported Donald Trump through political contributions.

These retailers and companies do not do business with the Trump family nor do they sell Trump family products. In addition, these companies have not supported Donald Trump through political contributions.
WHAT YOU CAN DO

Hey folks, this is the best way to send a strong and collective message to the Trump family, and their associates, that we will not support their toxic, sexist, homophobic, racist (the list goes on…) rhetoric. Tell your friends and family that you are choosing to not shop at any stores that sell any Trump (Donald & Ivanka) products.

In addition to boycotting all Trump products, you can also do the following:
  • Contact the BOYCOTT THESE COMPANIES listed above via email or their online contact forms and tell them why you are no longer purchasing products from their stores.
  • Contact the BOYCOTT THESE COMPANIES customer service departments listed above via telephone and tell them why you are no longer purchasing products from their stores.
  • Cancel your credit cards from stores which support the Trump family and their products.
  • Use all social media at your disposal, including Facebook, Google, Twitter, and any other groups in which you are a member, to ask friends and family to join the boycott of all Trump family products.
  • Get a group of friends together and picket outside stores which are supporting the Trump family and their products.
  • Sample messages you can send to the retailers who support the Trump family and their products:
  • I have been a customer of your store for many years, but will no longer be purchasing your products until you discontinue selling merchandise connected in any with Donald Trump and his family.
  • I am canceling my credit card due to your support of Donald Trump and his family.
  • I can no longer purchase products from your company since the CEO (or some other title) is known to have supported Donald Trump.
  • I am very disappointed your store continues to sell products connected to Donald Trump and his family and will no longer be patronizing your company.
