STORY 2021

This was kind of a huge year for us as we closed the equivalent of Japanese escrow and completed the purchase of our 4.5 acre forested mountain property. We had our eyes on this property for awhile now and this year the price was significantly reduced and within our budget. This was the beginning of quite a project for the family, especially since we were total newbies, and knew nothing about, forest management. With no usable campsite, we were limited to day trips until we set up at least minimal facilities. January 2021 - New Years and still self isolating due to the spread of COVID on the island.
February 2021 - No posts.
March 2021 - In the process of purchasing a small farm. (no pictures)
April 2021 - No posts.
May 2021 - Drove to look at the mountain we were thinking of buying. (no pictures)
June 2021 - Began light work on the mountain even before the actual purchase.
July 2021 - Purchased our 4.5 acre mountain. (no pictures)
August 2021 - First overnight camping trip. (no pictures)
September 2021 - Three overnight camping trips and overcoming challenges. (no pictures)
October 2021 - Got stung by a Japanese giant hornet, AKA "the worst bee". (no pictures)
November 2021 - The beginning of forest farming in our agroforest. (no pictures)
December 2021 - Cut the two huge oak trees on the campsite and opened up a huge space in the canopy. (no pictures)
