Hi. I was shopping with Akiko the other day and saw a friend of mine who is the
housing director at the American Language Institute at SDSU. There are some
students who need some lease agreements translated and I though either of you
might want to do this. They are going to pay of course. Akiko is working full
time and I am too busy to do this. Anyway the contact is Lisa Lyons and this is
her email address. xxxx@mail.sdsu.edu.
Let me know if either of you are interested. Send email when you can.

this if we were not required to go somewhere to meet. It seems like the
information could be translated at any location. It is important for the
translator to be somewhat knowledgeable in real estate. Anyway, send email when
you can.

Hi. My wife Akiko and I attend the program every year and thoroughly enjoy the
performances. I am happy to promote the House of India and the Indian community
in San Diego. The lawn program is, without a doubt, the best entertainment in
San Diego. A nice way to travel without actually traveling. San Diegans can
experience the sites and sounds, and learn about different cultures through this
program.
Meenakshi and I met a couple years ago and continue to build a wonderful
friendship. I am hoping to get to know you, and others in the Indian community,
as well.
Thank you very much for sending such detailed information about the
performances. As I told Meenakshi, it was extremely difficult to edit the video
down to ten minutes, the requirement for uploading to YouTube. The performances
were wonderful and cutting out any part of them seemed unfair. Therefore, I
decided to upload the main video along with the videos of the eight individual
performances. Everything should be completed and online tomorrow. I am going to

It was great meeting with you and Akiko at the Lawn program. It will be my
pleasure to get to know you and your wife and the House of India executive
committee will be happy to meet with you also. Thank you for your encouraging
words about our lawn program. Everyone in the House of India Executive committee
team works hard to put this together. I agree it is a nice way of experiencing
different cultures without travelling. I feel the same way when we watch other
lawn programs.
I was wondering if you had a chance of interviewing our House of India President
Naresh Rao at the lawn program. I know that you have only 10 minutes upload time
for the main video and if you have interviewed him please feel free to have his
interview online instead of mine. He also had made the opening speech welcoming
everyone at he lawn program.
I hope I am not troubling you too much. House of India Board really appreciates
you taking all this trouble. Thank you so much.

Hi. Akiko and I would definitely like to get to know all of you more. Please let
us know when other events will be held.
I tried to include a little bit of everything in the video, at least for the
main video, to appeal to a wider audience. A bit about the food, the
entertainment, and other things. I was able to fit in all the interviews and
even though Naresh was not interviewed, an excerpt from his opening speech was
included.
Please recheck the names of the performers as soon as you can. There may be some
incorrect information but not sure. It seems like the number of names and the
number of performers do not exactly match on some performances.
Anyway, if there are no updates, the videos should be uploaded today. Please
send email when you can. Thanks.

Meenakshi, Romila.
Hi. I am writing to both of you tonight with some good news and some not so good
news.
The good news is that the main program video and the eight individual
performance videos are all finished and they came out looking incredible.
The not so good news is the videos are too incredible.
Explanation. A few months before, Akiko and I made some videos for our Fun Easy
English site using a very cheap 40 dollar PC camera. The quality was good enough
and the videos uploaded to YouTube with no problem. The files were only about 30
mb each. The videos we took at the House of India program was with our new
camera. The quality of the videos we took is fantastic and looks really nice on
the computer but not when the video is uploaded to YouTube. It took some time
for us to isolate the problem tonight.
The problem is YouTube. Our videos from the program are all about 200 mb or
more. YouTube currently has a limit of 100 mb if you use there single video
uploader. This means they must compress our 200 mb video down to 100 mb to meet
their requirements. Whenever you compress a file, you reduce the quality. This
page in YouTube explains it better.
http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=55743&topic=10527
Please visit the San Diego site home page and play the video of the program
currently showing on the video player and you can see the reduced quality.
http://sandiegocaliforniaevents.com/
Akiko and I will be working on a solution. There must be an alternative. I am
going to send you an update soon. Talk to you again. Until then.

Hello Howie.
I saw the online video late last night. This morning I remembered that our
address for the donation was incorrect. That used to be our previous treasurer's
address. Our president Naresh did send out an e-mail to our current treasurer
asking him to send you his address. If he has not done so could you please
change it to the following address? xxxx.
If you can add our Vice President Rajshree Mudaliar's name that would be great.
People after seeing these videos usually prefer contacting the president or vice
president. Also, at the end as a Cultural Coordinator only my name has been
given. We are two coordinators myself and Anu Rajasekaran. Could that be edited
too? If there is a space problem you can put our first names only. Since we are
both on the board only my name should not be there. I know this is a lot of
trouble but I would really appreciate these changes. Thank you so much once
again to you and Akiko ro doing all this.
Best Regards.
Romila.

Romila.
Hi. I tried uploading the video again using YouTube downloaded software and the
quality is pretty much the same. I am again spending today trying to find a
solution to the problem. It seems everyone is experiencing the same problems due
to the limitations on the YouTube site which is why most videos are five minutes
or less.
I cannot make the changes to the video you requested until a solution is found.
It takes about 30 minutes to make the changes and publish the video to my
computer. It then takes about an hour and a half to upload the video to YouTube.
I prefer to do this all together. The video is now removed from the San Diego
site but is still available on the YouTube site pending a solution to this
problem. You can still see the video at the following address.
http://www.youtube.com/user/sandiegoevents
You can also watch our English videos from this page. Incidentally, our English
language site is extremely popular in India.
Anyway, there is a combination of problems with the video taken last weekend. As
stated before, Youtube compresses the videos which reduces the quality. In
addition, scenes in a movie with a lot of motion will have a higher bit rate
than scenes in a movie that do not contain as much motion. As the bit rate
increases, so does the video file size. The performances contain a lot of motion
which is another reason why our English site videos were much smaller files. The
videos were basically very little motion and mostly talking. The only other
alternative is to split the video into separate videos.
Anyway, I plan to send you updates while Akiko and I try to figure this all out.
Hang in there. Talk to you again.
Howie.

free Wednesday and Thursday. The JET program, while nice and allows non-jet
spouses is not until 2009. That interac site you gave me looks promising and I
will probably apply as there are interviews in the end of May. Other than that I
am not sure what else to do. The Military teaching does not really appeal to
either of us. Still, maybe a meeting with you and your friend can help us figure
out some realistic choices.
Neil.

Hi. I made event videos with Akiko this week. The House of India was incredibly
happy and the director of Balboa Park, gave us free Indian lunch and invited us
to her house for dinner next week. We are becoming good friends. Gonna begin
doing this for other groups. You should think about the event tomorrow. We are
making a few videos from this. Gonna be thousands attending and a lot of fun.
The new camera is awesome. Anyway, go to the home page of the SD site or click
the following link.

Watch the videos and tell me what you think. See you tonight.

Hi. I made the changes on the main video you requested with a few exceptions.
The name of the VP and the other cultural coordinator were added to the credits
at the end of the video.
The Internet site address for the House of India was moved to the credits and
the actual street address at the end was taken out in the event it changes
again.
The names included in the video are only for those who are actually speaking.
I was unable to add the name of the VP or the other cultural coordinator to the
eight individual performance videos. This would involve a minimum of an
additional two hours of work per video in publishing time to the computer and
then to the Internet. I spent the entire week on the videos and need to move on
to other projects.
The quality of the videos is extremely good on our computer and on CD. The
quality is not nearly as good on YouTube for the following reasons.
The videos contain a lot of motion which increases the bitrate and file size.
There is a lot of green in the background which additional pixels to the videos.
The videos are then compressed in YouTube, which reduces the quality.
The following link contains a good explanation.
http://blogs.chron.com/makingmovies/archives/2006/04/youtube_and_the.html
Anyway, the videos are now all online. I made separate pages in my SD site and
the videos are all in my account in YouTube. In addition, I am planning to post
the videos in my Travel Discussion board of my popular English language site.
This should give you some international exposure. The English language site is
extremely popular in India. The information in all the accounts was optimized
for search which means the House of India should be showing up in Google, Yahoo,
MSN and other search sites within the next few weeks.
There are many things you can do online to promote your videos.
* Tell everyone you can about the videos on the San Diego California Events
site. As they check the videos, the individual pages will move higher in the
search rankings and give more exposure to the House of India.
* Link to the video pages on the SD site from the House of India site.
* Encourage everyone to join YouTube. The account is free and then each person
can make comments and vote for each video. This will move each of the videos up
in the YouTube search results.
You can view all the videos if you do either of the following.
Visit the following index page on the SD site.
http://sandiegocaliforniaevents.com/san-diego-california-events-videos.htm
Visit the following index page from the YouTube account. From this page you can
obtain the address to link to any of the videos or get the script to actually
embed the videos in the House of India site, blog, or personal home page.
http://www.youtube.com/sandiegoevents
These were our initial event videos and they took a considerable amount of time
to make. Akiko and I were thinking about covering events as a supplement to our
SD site but we are not sure it would be cost effective.
Anyway, this was a learning experience and hopefully everyone connected with the
House of India can enjoy the videos. Please send email with your thoughts. Talk
to you again.
Howie.

Hi. I really want to thank you for your kind words. I met you a while ago and I
can remember asking you if I could give out flyers at one of your lawn programs
to promote my Internet site. You agreed without hesitation and were very nice. I
remembered that day and wanted to do something for you and the House of India.
The videos are now finished and uploaded to the Internet. Although the quality
of the videos is fantastic on my computer and on CD, the quality is considerably
reduced when uploaded to the YouTube server. Akiko and I spent the last few days
trying to find a solution but it is due to the way YouTube reformats and
compresses the videos which cannot be changed. Hopefully you can still enjoy the
videos.
Visit the following index page on the SD site.

Anyway, the nicest outcome from attending the performances is my friendship with
you. No doubt you and I will get to know each other much more as time goes on. I
really want to learn more about your diverse and fascinating culture.
Please let me know if there will be any upcoming House of India events or if
there is anything more you need. We are looking forward to spending the night

Hi. I totally agree about weddings. It should be a small ceremony with only
family and really close friends. A wedding is really wasting money that could be
used for other things. In addition, it obligates people to come and to spend
money for a gift. Usually people do not want to come and do not want to spend
money on a gift.
We were really happy to get married our way. We plan to do a really small
wedding in Japan. It will be with me and Akiko and her family. It will be good
enough.
Anyway, the summer is already getting off to a fun beginning. Now I am making
event videos. Really fun and getting a lot of recognition from the community. A
couple weeks ago, I made nine videos for the House of India. The director of
Balboa Park bought a really nice lunch for me and Akiko and this week we are
going to her house for dinner.
We went to a dinner party this past weekend and now I am working on a few more
videos from the events we went to. Check out these videos for now.

Hi Howie.
It sounds fun to fishing. But I already have another plan on this weekends.
Sorry...
Right now, we found a house and it's in the escrow. I hope it goes through ok.
Anyway, if it goes through, we might move out next month, so I have a lot of
things to do such as packing and cleaning, etc... I'm also looking for the best
deal house loan now. If you know a lender who has the cheapest interest rate and
fees, please let me know. The house we found is in the area called birdland in
Mission Valley. All the street names in the birdland has a bird's name on it. I
hope neighbors are nice.
I can't wait to have my own house finally without Jason's parents' interruption.
I don't know why they trick their own son and steal our house since they already
have many houses. Also they still demanding us to pay all the mortgage and
property tax for this house after they refuse to return this house to us. They
have a nerve.
Anyway, if we get a new house, we'll let you know. My email will stays the same,
so don't worry.
Well, have fun fishing and invite us for the dinner sometimes.
Have a nice day.
Miyuki.

include pictures and even embed a video. You need to read the Post Event link
