Hi. I really want to thank you for your offer. Akiko and I continue to look for
a house and because of the tough times in the mortgage industry we are now
watching every money we spend to be sure we can quality for the loan. We really
cannot afford to go out to a nice place at this time. We are happy to meet you
at our home, your home, or even in a park on the weekend. You could bring your
family and we could do a potluck or something. Maybe meet before the lawn
program on a Sunday. It would be really nice. Hopefully you will understand.

Hi again. I completely understand. Talked to my contact over at Washington
Mutual the other day and was enlightened on the reality of the financial market
now. Everyone getting laid off and the bank is only making Fannie Mae approved
loans. Really sucks now. We were thinking of getting back into investment
properties again but maybe not a good time even with these low prices. Anyway,
we continue to do a lot of cool stuff around SD and keep busy but still thinking
about making English schools in Japan. Akiko is doing good in this country but
is happy staying either place and same with me. The money teaching English over
there is incredibly good. Anyway, see what happens. Get together when things
settle for everyone. Talk to you again.

Hi. I needed to know the time because Akiko does not drive and I need to take
her and pick her up from work every day. I would need to go straight to the
dinner after picking her up from work and could only make it if she could join
too. It sounds like the seating is pretty limited though. Maybe in exchange for
the two seats, I could give you a lot of extra promotion on the site for the
entire week of the event. We often exchange advertising in this way, especially
with groups like Broadway San Diego who gives us tickets to the shows in
exchange for the additional advertising. Please send email with your thoughts
when you can.

Hi. I want to apologize for all the confusion about the party this weekend.
Akiko and I continue to go through a tough time about purchasing the house. Not
sure if she told you but we were pre-qualified for a loan. The problem is Akiko
and I think much differently about the situation and about money. Neither one of
us is wrong, just different. I spent many years in real estate and know the
difficulty involved with going back to mortgage payments again. It looks like
though we are not going to do this now. Too many arguments.
Anyway, Akiko is changing her mind every day about the party and not sure if we
are going or not. Your company has way too much social obligation instead of
focusing on business. No wonder the company is not doing well and everyone is
taking night classes and looking for other jobs. This is especially difficult
for Akiko who is wants to focus on work anytime. Because she is Japanese, she
feels obligated to attend all this word stuff. It is making her crazy. The
managers in your company should freaking work and quit focusing on pot-lucks and
parties.
Anyway, If we go to the party, you are welcome to ride with us. If not, then as
always, you are welcome to come for dinner. This is a difficult time for Akiko
and she would like you to come over and listen to her complain about me for
sure. lol. Either way, looking forward to seeing you again this weekend. Talk to
you again.
Howie.

Hi. I know and really I like to do fun things too but we are really on the
border of getting the house. If we spend money now and keep reducing the money
in our bank account, there is a good chance we cannot get approved when we
actually go to purchase a house. In addition, the loan we are trying to get
approved for could go away anytime. The lending industry is changing on a daily
basis. If this house thing does not work out then I need to leave for Japan next
year. We all need to make choices anytime. Anyway, see you this weekend. Until
then.
Howie.

Hi. I actually took us off your list for a few reasons.
Even though it seemed to you like we would not be pre-qualified, you should at
least keep in touch with an email or a courtesy call. This is good business in
any industry. Not being good clients now does not mean we will not become good
clients down the road.
Your mortgage company is the same. No information, no updates for over two weeks
now.
You were supposed to advertise on my SD site, which you forgot about.
My name continued to be misspelled on your updates.
I spend many years in SD but still cannot get used to this level of service and
lack of follow through.
Incidentally, I talked to my contact over at Washington Mutual. Although they
were not able do anything, the loan representative spent 45 minutes on the phone
with me explaining the industry and referring us to another person. The new
contact, at Countrywide, pre-qualified us within a few hours using a stated
income loan. My credit score is over 810 going way back and this was good enough
for them.
You and your mortgage guys need to your homework a bit more and learn about
customer service. There were other options for us. You are welcome to put me
back on your list and begin again if you want and do things more our way this
time. Up to you. Talk again.
Howie.

Hi. I listened to your message and was happy and impressed you would call and
say what you said. I really know you are a good agent and thought of you as a
good friend as well. Until, recently we were running up against a lot of walls
relating to real estate, and our online business, enough in fact, to possibly
push us to moving back to Japan. Akiko is good with either SD or Japan. It is my
goal to run a successful online business which can be worked on from anywhere in
the world. Probably saw too many of those credit card commercials with the guy
on the beach with a laptop doing business. lol.
Now my English site continues to way outperform my SD site and I know with a
little more work, could probably do very well with that site. We really want to
at least try and stay in San Diego though. A house would obviously keep us in
this city.
Try to understand why I am being tough on you now. I tend to be pretty
conservative when it comes to business. I really value reliability and follow
through. Anytime it was this way in my appraisal business. Seen many changes
over the years. Even friends I grew up with changed a lot when they moved to SD
and often did not even show up for meetings and no phone call. Makes it
difficult to do business. No doubt you run into this a lot with your clients.
Anyway, I would like to begin again with you. Any good relationship deserves
another chance, and again, I think you are a good agent and would definitely be
a good friend. Put the last few weeks in the past and get moving on these
houses. You can put us back on the list if you want. If not we are looking all
over the Internet anyway. Up to you.
I need to finish up a ton of stuff this afternoon but will try to call you
tonight. I prefer these kinds of conversations in person too. Thanks for
understanding and for calling. Incidentally, I am erect now….um my back that is.
Finally better after walking around like the letter C for about a week. Anyway,
talk to you again.

Hi. I really wanted to call you tonight but some things came up. Akiko and I do
not ever disagree about anything but recently the thought of mortgage payments
is kind of getting to Akiko and we argued the last couple nights. I plan to hold
off looking for houses until she fully understands everything involved in
purchasing a house. Pretty much Japanese thinking but they are generally not
good about debt anytime. It would be nice to get together socially when you can
find the time. Anyway, need tonight to settle a bit. Hopefully you understand.

Hi. I was waiting to see which of my sites would be good at the end of last
month. My English site is way outperforming the SD site. Akiko and I now are
considering using the popularity of the site and opening English schools in
Japan and possibly other countries. If this happens, we will be permanently out
of San Diego, yippee. Quite honestly, neither one of us like the people in this
city. The women are stupid and the men cannot form an opinion about anything.
People are more interested in being loud, wearing nice clothes, and who you
know. There is no sophistication in this city and no value for intelligence.
Anyway, time to move one. Recently in contact with friends from New York and
very refreshing to get straight answers about everything. Anyway, enough
already. We are both ready and happy to leave. In addition, we DO NOT want to
raise kids in a beach community with only one season, summer. It is too easy and
the kids in this city do not know about hardships and do not learn to work. We
are next to the high school and the kids are awful now. They look terrible and
their language is even worse, using F—K for every other word when they speak. We
want to raise kids in a more educated environment. Anyway, our thinking now.

This email serves as notification of observed health and safety hazards at the
Brentwood Condominiums. I want you to note, and take action ASAP to remedy the
following:
Hazard #1.
The parking lot of the Brentwood condominiums was recently resurfaced with an
asphalt coating. Parking space 191 was only partially resurfaced. A close
inspection revealed the absence of new asphalt coating on the surfaces adjacent
to the walls of the carport. In addition, the grade is improperly installed and
now there is standing water in the parking space resulting in a safety hazard
due to the possibility of slipping and falling.
See attached picture: Brentwood Parking Space Grade 1.
See attached picture: Brentwood Parking Space Grade 2.
Solution: Replace the grade and asphalt surface of parking space 191.
Hazard #2.
The concrete walkway leading up to the end units of building 6840 Hyde Park
Drive is cracked and the crack has become noticeably wider in recent months. As
the rainy season approaches, this crack will fill with rain runoff and continue
to widen. This constitutes a safety hazard due to the possibility of stumbling
over the cracked concrete.
See attached picture: Brentwood Walkway Concrete Crack 1.
See attached picture: Brentwood Walkway Concrete Crack 2.
Solution: Replace the cracked section of the concrete walkway leading up to the
end units of building 6840 Hyde Park Drive.
Health and Safety Hazard #3.
The noise on Navajo Road has increased substantially over the last few months. I
am now in the preliminary stages of taking legal action against the City of San
Diego to get the speed limit reduced from 50 miles per hour to 35 miles per
hour. We can no longer leave our windows open, even on hot days because of the
noise. Even with the windows closed, we are unable to listen continuously to
music or television. We are also unable to sleep in the morning. The landscaping
recently installed on the Navajo Road side of the Brentwood Condominiums is
UNACCEPTABLE. The homeowners association will need to reinstall new landscaping
which has been proven to reduce street noise. The noise is now so awful, several
elderly residents stated they need to stay outside in the recreation area
because the morning and afternoon traffic noise is unbearable.
See attached picture: Brentwood Landscaping Unacceptable.
See attached picture: Brentwood Landscaping Acceptable.
Solution #1: Reinstall new landscaping which is thick and tall enough and has
been proven to reduce street noise. In addition, the homeowners association to
install new sound-proofing windows in my unit at the expense of the homeowners
association.
I fully expect these issues to be looked into and remedied immediately. I
absolutely DO NOT want these issues to go through endless discussion and debate
before being resolved. These are Health and Safety issues and potential
liability for the homeowners association.
I plan to use my popular San Diego California Events website and my media
connections in the community to bring attention to the unacceptable noise
situation on Navajo Road. I am expecting an immediate reply from you concerning
these issues.
Howard Hayman.

Hi. I know the last time we talked, it seemed like I was a bit distant. The fact
is I am thinking about you and there for you anytime. Recently going through a
lot too and some problems with Akiko. Basically we are good but now I am not
doing good. Was really sick the last few weeks and really took a lot of my
energy. Now back to working out and slowly getting better. Akiko and my friends
from the last few years, including you, only know me as a retired type of person
and going to college. None of you know the business side at all. Honestly, my
situation is unacceptable now. I should be happy but not happy at all, in fact,
miserable these days. Why? Should be happy. Nice paid off place in a nice warm
city with a nice beautiful wife. The fact is my situation is boring and lonely.
Because I am not out there in the business world, no social contact. Home alone
the entire day with no social interaction and no successful business to be proud
of like years ago. The only happiness recently is eating and drinking. Yup, not
good. Now taking steps to get rid of most of the projects except for the English
site and focus on teaching again.
Anyway, your situation actually sounds good to me, actually better now. Could
not believe you wrote so much about my stuff. Nice change, hehe. Anyway, send

condominiums which require your attention. I totally expect you to reply to
these emails even if only to confirm your receipt of the email. Requesting an
update to the steps you are taking to remedy these problems. Send email as soon
as possible. Thanks.
Howie Hayman.

Hi. I want to thank you for inviting us for dinner next week. Actually Jim sent
email about it a few weeks ago. Akiko and I would like to know what you want us
to bring. We are still keeping your plastic containers, and as Jim said, we can
return them with food inside. lol. Anyway, it will be really nice to spend the
New Year with friends. Please send email when you can. Thanks.
Howie.

Hi. I pick up Akiko at 5:30 and we might be a couple minutes late but should be
able to make it on time. Tons of questions to ask you about your kitchen. This
remodeling sucks but is moving along quickly. Used chemical stripper and now
light sanding and maybe staining next week. Anyway, getting really involved in
this bailout thing. Tons to talk about on Monday. Should be lots of fun. Talk to
you again.
Howie.

Hi. I am happy you are doing better. I probably cannot meet next week but
definitely the week after. I began a kitchen remodel and need to add least
finish taking everything off before being able to go out. The kitchen is mostly
unusable now and need to at least make it usable again. Hang in there a bit
more. Send email when you can.

Hi. Actually I turned off the phone. We plan on getting cell phones soon. Akiko
and I will be coming to dinner on Monday and can talk then or you can send
email. Probably will be online tonight and maybe tomorrow unless we decide to
watch football. Either way we can talk soon. Send email if you can. Until then.

Hi. I decided to try one more time to send you email and see if you want to keep
in contact. You know, finding good friends in SD is not easy. Difficult to get
close to people in this city for sure. Enjoyed talking with you anytime we met
and was really hoping we would be able to stay friends. Up to you of course.
Send email when you can. Until then.
Howie.

Message - Hi Howie and Akiko. Thanks for your email and it was very nice meeting you as well. I visited your web sites, and am very impressed! You did it all by yourself? They are so clean and well organized, as well as very informative. Do you advertise these sites somewhere? If not, I think you should. A lot of people will benefit from your sites! What do you guys do for fun? We should hang out together some time. I'm only 2 miles away from you!
Take care, Mina.

Hey, I really wanna thank you for the compliments on the sites. Yup, they took a
long time and yes this is all my work with a lot of technical assistance from
Akiko, kashikoi. We do get money from the Google ads on all the sites which
covers the expenses. Planning to really monetize the sites in the future. For
now, lots of fun adding content and communicating with people all over the
world.
For fun, hmmmm, we both like eating and drinking for sure. Akiko likes classical
music and reading and is actually pretty quiet. As for me, really like the
outdoors, hiking, mountain bike riding, those sorts of things. I really like
talking, um and listening, honto ni urusai desu.
Anyway, yeah, get together for sure. We like to make new friends. You can come
to the remodeling mess for dinner. Gonna take awhile to finish everything but
you can come over anyway.
Your turn, let us know what kinds of things you like to do. Send email when you
can.
Howie.

Message - Hi Howie and Akiko. It seems like Akiko is a very traditional, graceful Japanese girl. You are lucky to find her! I think I'm on the opposite side. I don't like cooking, am lazy, and not quiet. I enjoy eating, singing, listening to the Beatles, dancing, etc. So there is at least one thing in common among us, which is eating! I would love to come over to have a fun time! I like making new friends, too. Let me know when you guys are available. Also, does she work Mon-Fri? I usually have a day off on a weekday. Maybe she and I can have a girls' day out! Cheers, Mina.
