Message - Hi Howard. It was great to see you after so many years and to
finally meet your beautiful family in person. I really appreciate the
hospitality and the tour of your new home. I think you will enjoy living in
Julian. The 10 years I lived and worked in the area were incredible and the
locals were very friendly for the most part. Apple days will be coming in
October and there will be throngs of tourists descending in the area to pick
apples and buy some apple pie. The dirty little secret is most of the apples
used in the pie are not locally grown. I would avoid bike riding on the highways
on the weekends as there are way too many speeding motorcyclists and wanna be
race car drivers trying to zip through the curves as quick as they can. My wife
spoke to Aki Green(I always thought her name was Akiko) and mentioned Akiko

nice and I think you will enjoy meeting her and her family. I know how much my
wife appreciated meeting another Nihon-jin and being able to speak Nihongo. I
know when I lived in Korea it was nice to speak to someone in native English
