Now we are camping at Hamada beach. The kids are sleeping and now drinking wine
with Akiko and watching the stars. This island rocks for sure. The pics are

This is the view from where we camped on the beach the last couple of days. A
beautiful place for sure.
We decided to continue camping for another day at our favorite beach. Camping is
free pretty much anywhere on the island.

Now a bit after three pm and the music is blasting at the beach and already
hitting the beer. After hours of fantastic body boarding it tastes soooooooo
good.

This is the best band on the island Honaka Africa.

The smoked chicken from our makeshift smoker was really delicious.
Turned the fire ring in the rear yard into a smoker. About 80 bucks for the top
with a thermometer and about 20 bucks for a couple of cooking grills.
Now growing tons of popcorn in the old farm. The locals are really impressed.

A typhoon is coming. Thought it was a good idea to take a picture of the yard
before the typhoon comes tonight. The green wall which is growing in front of
the house was made using huge pieces of bamboo from the beach and natural jute
rope and bitter melon vines. A group of pink banana trees are in front of the
green wall. And growing on the other side of the yard are over a hundred yellow
banana trees. Hopefully the yard makes it through the typhoon which is going to
get really close to the island.
And wifey said there was about six kilos of edamame in the container.
Nice harvest from the large farm. A lot of sweet green cantaloupe, round okra,
kaboucha, different cucumbers, and a ton of edamame.
Nice harvest from the small farm. The white container is filled with green
peppers, hot peppers, nasu, and vine spinach. The green container has red shiso,
green shiso, and sweet basil.

What bug is this? Was crawling around at our house. This can fly and the colors
were beautiful. Please post if any of you know this Insect.
Chrysochroa fulgidissima.
This is really amazing. The beach close to our home is one of the best tide pool
locations on the island. The storm surge from the recent typhoon stripped the
sand from the beach. Going to take awhile before the daily high tide replenish
the sand.
This is the storm damage in our farm located at the south end of the island. The
popcorn was leveled but still connected and we decided to leave it like this and
let it dry until ready to be picked.
Typhoon damage. A category two typhoon curved around the island the last couple
of days and caused quite a bit of damage to crops and farmland. This is the
green bitter melon wall in front of our house which was thrashed by the strong
winds. Thankfully the over a hundred banana trees made it through with no
problem. The before picture is posted on my page.

Yup August 31 and the beach is officially closed for Summer but still okay to
use though.
Found this really interesting creature while snorkeling last week.
