THE
DECADES 1860 - 1889
In these 3 decades: the American Civil War was fought; the Dominion of Canada
was established; the Suez Canal was opened; Alexander Graham Bell constructed a
telephone; Johann Strauss popularized the Viennese Waltz with Blue Danube; the
Statue of Liberty was presented to the United States by France and the seeds of the
Rose Family were sown.
The following genealogical information was obtained from the book given to
attendees at the Rose Family Club 50th Anniversary Gala, which was held on
September 3, 1995 in Toronto, Canada. This is an ongoing project for me and I am
hoping to connect with as many family members as possible to make the Rose
genealogical timeline even more complete. Please feel free to contact me at the following: |

“—to all of us, let me tell you, we come from good stuff. We make ourselves
belong. We are survivors. We feel. We care. We are warm and loving. Our emotions
run deep. We, as our parents, do not always do the right thing. We make
mistakes. But we are here if you need us. We care.”
