Welcome to my genealogy pages. For many years I wanted to
trace my family history back as far as I could, more
specifically, the Rose family history. With all of the
mundane tasks and projects that fill our daily lives, it is
often difficult to find the time to work on a project of this magnitude. With us now
settled in our new (but old) home in the Japanese countryside, I decided it was time to finally tackle this
project.
Please note, this is an ongoing project and I am hoping to
connect with as many family members as possible to make the
Rose genealogical timeline even more complete.

Present
To put things into perspective, this is what was, and

- Rapid Climate
Change Acceleration (2020–Present): Successive
years of record-breaking heat, wildfires, and extreme
weather events forced global focus on the accelerating
climate crisis.
- COVID-19
Pandemic & Global Shutdowns (Jan 2020–May 2023):
SARS-CoV-2 spread globally, leading to mass lockdowns,
vaccine development, economic disruption, and shifting,
long-term health policies.
- George Floyd
Protests & Social Justice Movements (May 2020–2021):
The murder of George Floyd triggered worldwide protests
against systemic racism and police brutality, sparking
global conversations on racial equity.
- Jan 6 U.S.
Capitol Insurrection & Political Unrest (Jan 2021):
Following the 2020 U.S. election, a mob attacked the
U.S. Capitol, marking a major turning point in American
political stability.
- Global
Inflation & Economic Crisis (2021–Present):
Post-pandemic supply chain issues and war-related energy
shocks resulted in the highest inflation rates in
decades.
- Rise of the
"Axis of Autocracies" (2022–Present): Growing

challenged Western-led global norms.
- Russian
Invasion of Ukraine (Feb 2022–Present): A major
escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian war caused widespread

Queen Elizabeth II (Sept 2022): The death of the
longest-reigning British monarch marked the end of an
era, impacting the Commonwealth and initiating the reign
of King Charles III.
- Rise of
Generative AI (Nov 2022–Present): The public
release of ChatGPT ignited an artificial intelligence
boom, transforming technology, workforce dynamics, and
content creation.
- Israel-Hamas
War (Oct 2023–Present): A Hamas aggression
against Israel and the subsequent invasion of Gaza
triggered a massive, ongoing conflict, impacting the
entire Middle East.

Ethan Mishael Hayman
was born in TANEGASHIMA, JAPAN - 3rd child of Howard and Akiko, 6th grandchild of Lily and Stuart,
????
great-grandchild of Max and Annie.
The name Ethan (אֵיתָן,
pronounced Eitan in Hebrew) has a powerful and positive meaning, derived
from the Hebrew word etan. It means strong, firm, enduring or long-lived,
solid or permanent, ever-flowing or perennial (often used to describe a
steady stream that flows all year). In the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament),
Ethan the Ezrahite is a prominent figure known for his exceptional wisdom, a
standard against which even King Solomon was measured. He is also credited
with authoring Psalm 89. The name's connotations of strength and
steadfastness are highly valued qualities within Jewish culture. Mishael
(Hebrew: מִישָׁאֵל) is a Hebrew name meaning "Who is like God?" or "Who is
what God is?". It is a Biblical name derived from the elements mi ("who")ke/sha
("like"), and El ("God"), representing a rhetorical question that emphasizes
God’s incomparability and supremacy. Mishael was one of the companions of
Daniel in the Book of Daniel (later named Meshach), known for his faith when
surviving the fiery furnace. He was also a Levite in Exodus 6:22. It is a
theological question designed to assert that no one is equal to God. It is a
male Hebrew name originating from ancient biblical text. The name Ethan is
meant to honor the first names of his grandparent Lily Hayman's sister Ethel
and the first name of his great-grandparent Annie. The name Mishael is meant
to honor the first name of his grandparent Lily Hayman's brother Murray. The
last three letters of Mishael and also the last three letters of Lael, his
brother. |

Howard, Akiko, Shai, Lael, and Ethan Hayman move to Setouchi City in Okayama
Prefecture of Japan and purchase a home where they are currently engaged in
self sufficient farming and enjoying a very quiet lifestyle in the
countryside of Japan. |
